For the first time in more than two months, our champions of the World Series, the Red Sox fell out of first place in the AL East. But our heroes are still confident and are adamant that they can dare to compete even in the strongest challenge thrown by the New York Yankees and win the division. After the Red Sox lost an eighth-inning lead and awfully lost to the last-place Tampa Bay Devil Rays by scores of 7-4, which was further coupled with New York's 2-1 victory over Baltimore, the Red Sox seem to be out of the chase. The Sox can now only lament over the Curse of Bambino once again. Their previous season’s World Series victory can only be compared to a mirage, which certainly gave them the moments of jubilation but vanished as soon the Sox tried to chase it in the 2004-2005 season.
