Signed to an offer sheet as a restricted free agent by the NYJ on March 20, 1998, Jets running back Curtis Martin is truly a player of substance who has played even through ankle injuries, torn ligaments, even an injured tailbone. He's been a guy that's always answered the bell and how else his amazing ability can be explained? He has missed just four games in 11 seasons and is once again set to prove his meticulousness. Martin strained his right knee against the Miami Dolphins, but like a true sportsman he is in his full-fledged spirits to play in the Sunday game against Jacksonville. He will prove to be a huge blow for the Jets offense, especially when the Jets both fullbacks are sidelined with sprained right ankles.

This is his adamant attitude towards the professional football that has made him only the second quarterback in NFL history to rush for 1,000 yards in his first 10 NFL seasons joining Hall of Famer Barry Sanders.
