The living legends like Mark Messier, Ron Francis, Scott Stevens and Al MacInnis one final time before they walked quietly into the hockey sunset. There were no farewell tours of the NHL's arenas for these players. More pathetic was the treatment with the not-so-famous players who were the victims of the salary cap, decided not to return for the 2005-06 season. This quite departure or in other words say exile of these players showcase how fragile and brief a sporting career can be. The aura of other big-name NHL players that are in their last season of playing, make it sure that you bid them adieu in a unique way and take the opportunity to see them for a final time. Some of these players are Dave Andreychuk-Tampa Bay Lightning, Ed Belfour-Toronto Maple Leafs, Chris Chelios-Detroit Red Wings, Dominik Hasek-Ottawa Senators, Brett Hull-Phoenix Coyotes, Mario Lemieux-Pittsburgh, Joe Nieuwendyk-Florida Panthers, Gary Roberts-Florida, Luc Robitaille-Los Angeles Kings, Jeremy Roenick- Los Angeles Kings, Steve Thomas-Toronto Maple Leafs, and Steve Yzerman-Detroit Red Wings
