In NFL if 2004 was the season of the tight end, then 2005 has been considered the season of ill-footed kickers. In 2004, the players like Antonio Gates broke the records and the raw talents like Gates, Jason Witten, and Alge Crumpler flourished as the leading receivers. The fantasy owners have lamented on the misbehaving boots of some of the game's most consistent kickers. Also, in early season matchups the inaccuracies of fantasy football’s top-10 kickers have been hastily decided. The scenario came into focus because one of the game's most consistent kickers has missed three field goals in one game and at least four of them probably belong to waiver wire. Kicker David Akers, since the new millennium has started has been a complete disaster. This season, he misfired on three of his first four attempts, tore a hamstring, and is set to miss week four. Heaven Knows, how will he once again prove his reliability? Colts kicker Mike Vanderjagt has become a victim of Indy's slumping offense and has only four treys in three games this season. The Year of the Ill-Footed Kicker is a remarkable presentation of cheat sheet.
